HOUSES
Upon their acceptance and entry into the Xavier Institute, all students and faculty members are initiated into one of four "Houses": Corsair, Excelsior, Exemplar, and Paragon. These Houses serve the same basic functions as a fraternity; they are social organizations that provide support to each one of their members in a permanent, lifelong fellowship.
Each House has its unique set of values that it fosters amongst its members and upholds before the rest of the school community. Member selection is based on both the individual's character traits and special skills. Headmaster Charles Xavier personally assigns each new student or teacher into his/her House soon after his/her acceptance into the Institute.
The four Houses frequently engage one another in various school-wide competitions, most notably in the Inter-House Intramurals held every Spring. Achievements made by individual members bring honor and are celebrated by their entire House. Graduates continue to support their Houses long after they have left the school.
Each House has its own private headquarters on the school grounds. Under the leadership of their faculty heads, they can organize their own team building exercises, field trips, charity fundraisers, and other activities as authorized by school administration.
